STORYTIME!

BILLY BOB

This will take a minute to read but believe me its worth it, please read to the end...xx.

So you know how people say it takes a village to raise a child....Well let me tell ye a story of how it took a village to save a dogs life.....the following is a true story and has a wonderful ending so no need to worry. It's a story about a beautiful boy who was found abandoned by a dog warden. He ended up in the pound and the warden there completely fell in love with this little guy. She named him Billy Bob and worked very hard to find him a home. She shared his picture with another dog rescue in her area. The lovely girl there posted on her page and that's how I came across him. I followed his story for a few weeks until I heard he was on his last day's as he had been issued a "put to sleep" order. No way I cud let that happen so I travelled to pick him up and so began our love story.

I fell hook line and sinker for this handsome fella. I tried my hand at training him myself but realised I was out of my depth and reached out to my local pet shop for advise. They recommended a trainer and he agreed to take Billy Bob and so began another love story. The trainer and his family fell in love with BB as well. They did an amazing job of training him in a very short period of time. I attended the sessions and the trainer did his best with me but I was a lost cause.... With the trainers help Billy Bob found his forever home with a wonderful family of 5 who are just the absolute best choice of family for this big fella. He loves them and they love him. I believe "love at 1st sight" is the correct term to use here... Now Billy Bob is on his journey with people who love him and although I'll admit to crying my eyes out, I'm happier than I ever thought possible for this amazing dog. I wud like to personally thank the following village who helped save Billy Bob from certain death, just because of his breed, which in my opinion is an amazing breed.

1st Catherine @Drogheda dog poundfor rescuing him and fighting so hard to keep him alive, then Lisa Drogheda Animal Rescue..DAR, who shared the post where I first saw him, Colm and Megan for making the journey to Drogheda with me to pick him up, Kevin Traynor for not saying wat he was thinking, omg mum, not another dog and Juris Laus for building his kennel and reinforcing his fencing and gates to keep him safe, to the great people in @Petshopboyz for the recommendation for the trainer and to Connect Dog Training...wat can I say, Mantas and Tanya, I seriously don't know wat we wud have done without ye. You are amazing trainers and people and I feel totally blessed to have met you guys and for everything ye did for Billy Bob. Words truly cannot express my gratitude...even if you did slag me off Mantas, that Billy loved you more than me ....completely true by the way...

The training Billy Bob got was 2nd to none and the fact that he became so confident and obedient whilst retaining his amazing, goofy, lovable spirit was amazing to watch, to Marius and Giedre for seeing how amazing Billy Bob is and for opening your hearts and home to him, I will forever be grateful to you and your family for loving him , my best friend Sarah Brady for your love and support wen I had tears and snots running down my face..

And finally to the big man himself...mama baby dog Billy Bob, thank you for coming into my life and filling my heart with so much love. I loved you from the moment we met and I will always love you and I'll never forget you. No matter who you live with and who loves you....you will always and forever be mama baby dog....my heart weeps that I've lost you but also that you have finally found your forever family and are blessed to be starting your next adventure. You are definitely getting the life you deserve.

So congratulations Billy Bob and best of luck on this wonderful stage of yur life. You are a great dog and you bless everyone you meet with your beautiful smile, goofy loving, floppy ears and gorgeous eyes. You made it Billy, your safe and your home.
